The Challenge
Sankyu faced a compelling opportunity to upgrade from its Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 platform to a more advanced system, driven by the need to enhance operational efficiency and harmonise processes globally. The existing infrastructure, while dependable, now needed improvement to meet modern business demands.
With a focus on unifying operations across Southeast Asia, the transition from a private data centre to the cloud was crucial. This move not only supported Sankyu’s long-term objectives but also ensured scalability and fostered innovation, positioning the business for success as advances like AI reshape the industry.
The Solution
Recognising Hitachi Solutions as its established partner, Sankyu entrusted the team with leading the migration from Dynamics AX 2012 to Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. This represented a significant transformation, as Sankyu moved from a private data centre to the cloud and consolidated all processes into a single integrated platform.
Hitachi Solutions proposed a comprehensive strategy to tackle Sankyu’s challenges:
- Platform upgrade: the move to Microsoft Dynamics 365 enhanced reporting capabilities, resulting in improved decision-making and strategic planning
- Template development: a standardised template was created to unify processes across all regions, ensuring consistency and efficiency
- Data migration and validation: a collaborative approach involved multiple rounds of data migration and meticulous validation, enhancing data accuracy and reliability
As a result, Sankyu now enjoys a cloud-ready environment and optimised operations throughout Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
