Unlock Microsoft Fabric’s Potential for Your Data-driven Enterprise

Current State of the Data-driven Enterprise

Today, cultivating and promoting a data-driven culture in your enterprise is everyone’s opportunity and business challenge. Scaling data and analytics across the organization while reducing costs and optimizing existing data and management is nearly a universal quest. How this plays out for your company is more nuanced than a shared narrative. Whether transformation momentum begins with your IT department, driven from the top down, or even horizontally pulled throughout your business as people drive towards modern work habits, accelerating business value with a modern data platform is the foundation of your analytics transformation for the era of AI.

Hitachi Solutions has been working with customers to future-proof their enterprises through a data-first approach for quite some time. Whether it’s a SaaS-driven platform, 100 percent bespoke, or a hybrid approach, our data & AI professionals work to identify a solution that meets the needs of the enterprise, its people & processes. For many, partnering with our Business Advisory team, not only confirms the “what” for AI transformation initiatives but solidifies the “how” for organizations to drive business transformation through a data-driven strategy and adapt to change from a people-first perspective.

The 6 Pillars of a Data-Driven Enterprise

To roadmap from building a modern data foundation to organizational preparedness, we’ve delivered more than 100 bespoke concept proofs to customers seeking faster time to value through a unified platform like Microsoft Fabric, leading to 12 Fabric engagements and counting. In addition, we’ve offered nearly 20 virtual Fabric in a Day for Power BI professionals, and countless on-site expert-led demonstrations to build the business case for executives. Recently, Microsoft named Hitachi Solutions one of 80 Microsoft Fabric Featured Partners highlighting our team’s expertise in not only proving the value of Fabric but designing and delivering the right modern solution to our customers time and time again.

For Microsoft Fabric, in particular, the key to its seamless integration and the driving value for many customers lies at its core — OneLake. For data movement, Fabric provides an array of services to envelop data lakes, data engineering, data science, real-time analytics, and business intelligence. This breaks down silos and offers a secure way in for everyone. OneLake is a unified logical lake, so you can store, share, and build upon different types of data for different roles throughout your enterprise.

Data Modernization Made to Order

Whether it’s a complete overhaul of your existing analytics estate or a step-by-step transformation, Fabric can be integrated with other analytics solutions, including our own Empower Data Platform. Empower is a great option to drastically speed up your Fabric Lakehouse adoption strategy and results, for example.

If you’re heavily invested in Databricks, Hitachi Solutions is a Brickbuilder award-winning partner that can build the case for Fabric with our “Better Together” strategy. If you have a legacy platform or are already heavily invested in Synapse, etc., Fabric offers a seamless experience for customers already using or investing in these platforms. This integration capability enhances Fabric’s value and capacity by providing a comprehensive solution that leverages existing investments for a future-proofed transformation.

There are many benefits to OneLake architecture. The scalability, security, and agility to embrace legacy analytics platforms are fundamental for the value of Fabric. If you’re an existing Power BI premium user, for example, Fabric brings everything you need together into one workspace and one tenant, and that includes your data engineering; data transformations; data activation; event alerting triggering — a lot of the things that customers are doing with data.

Lakehouse/Power BI Use Case

With a legacy on-prem data & analytics platform, Hitachi Solutions’ customer sought to design and implement a centralized cloud-based data ecosystem called Data Fabric to facilitate data consumption by their analytics and app user team. Centralized data will enhance capabilities and enable key collaboration by unified analytics. This customer will now move forward with a single source of truth and an AI-ready modern data platform.

AI-powered Capabilities & Copilot in Microsoft Fabric

Fabric accelerates team capabilities and collaboration by streamlining data integration, code writing, and business intelligence availability on demand. With Fabric, you can prompt and generate reports either at will or by automating regular weekly reporting. And Copilot can help you transform data into flows and pipelines by suggesting code and functions in real-time to uncover insights. Users can publish their results as plugins, and with the Fabric-hosted data, Copilot reaches across workspaces for better collaboration.

Copilot Use Case

For this long-term customer, Hitachi Solutions is underpinning a new solution with a data hub PoC involving Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric that will mediate events from Siemens Teamcenter and Oracle Agile PLM — and stream them through Azure Integration Services and Databricks to enable a Publish Subscribe pattern. The implementation will broadcast PLM events to the company’s integration platform and will enable data consistency with source systems and facilitates data integrity.
