At Hitachi Solutions, sustainability is more than a goal, it’s a responsibility. Through our collaboration with Ecologi, we actively support global climate action projects that restore ecosystems and reduce carbon emissions.

Through our collaboration with Ecologi, we actively support global climate action projects that restore ecosystems and reduce carbon emissions. Ecologi offers companies like ours a platform to make actionable changes for the planet’s health. We’ve chosen Ecologi for their shared values and dedication to high-quality climate action projects, helping us calculate our carbon footprint and support impactful initiatives.
The Roots of Change Program
As part of this plan, we created the Roots of Change program where we plant 15 trees each year in honor of each Hitachi Solutions employee. Through Roots of Change, we’re not just marking birthdays, we’re building forests, creating jobs in vulnerable communities, and supporting a healthier planet for future generations. Together, we’re making sustainability personal and impactful.
Global Impact
Hitachi Solutions has helped plant more than 4,000 trees to date through our Roots of Change Initiative, joining Ecologi’s community of over 20,000 businesses that have collectively prevented 3 million metric tonnes of CO2e emissions from entering our atmosphere through supporting verified carbon avoidance projects, as well as funding the responsible planting of over 80 million trees globally.
This initiative aligns with our values, strengthens our commitment to sustainability, and recognizes the role each of you plays in making Hitachi Solutions a great place to work. Together, we’re contributing to global reforestation efforts, creating jobs in vulnerable communities, and supporting a healthier planet for future generations.
Community Impact
Ecologi also helps impoverished communities by integrating social and economic benefits directly into its climate action projects, which positively contribute to over 47,800 livelihoods worldwide. Reforestation and forest protection initiatives create local jobs, providing alternative, sustainable income streams to illegal logging while helping to lift families out of poverty. Ecologi also funds community-based projects that improve health and sanitation, such as rehabilitating boreholes to provide access to clean drinking water, which reduces the incidence of waterborne diseases and eliminates the need for boiling water over wood fires.
