Hitachi Solutions Presents Fabric in a Day Workshop for Business and IT Professionals

When Microsoft Fabric officially hits the market, Hitachi Solutions wants to make sure its customers are not only prepared but confident in transitioning to this innovative data platform. With that, we are excited to announce the launch of our Fabric in a Day workshop for business and IT professionals.

Be Prepared for Microsoft Fabric’s General Availability

This free, interactive workshop comes just in time to prepare organizations for the upcoming general availability of Microsoft Fabric. A preview version of Fabric has been available to customers for evaluation purposes since July. Since then, Microsoft has been fine-tuning it with input from customers using the preview; and it’s almost ready for prime time.

At Hitachi Solutions, we’ve been working closely with the Microsoft Fabric teams for over two years as one of few designated partners chosen to provide early feedback, testing and insights. Thus, our in-depth knowledge of the Fabric platform, combined with our experience in building data platforms for our customers, positions us distinctively to guide your journey with Fabric.

What’s Fabric All About?

Fabric is a Data Platform Software as a Service (SaaS) offering for the AI age. It’s an analytics platform that eliminates the complexity and expense of integrating and administering data estates using multiple products and tools. This means users get a truly unified experience and architecture, providing all the capabilities required for extracting insights from data and presenting them to business users.

The beauty of it is that users don’t have to worry about switching environments for using each service: Power BI, Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory. Fabric has a single workspace, single sign-on, and single storage format. Better yet, it’s infused with generative AI capabilities all the way from data engineering features to Azure Open AI integration.

Fabric’s unified management and governance make it easier for data professionals to work together on data projects. It removes data silos and the need for access to multiple systems, enhancing collaboration between data professionals. Moreover, it offers role-specific experiences for various teams involved in the analytics process, ensuring a seamless workflow for data engineers, data scientists, analysts, and business users.

Fabric’s OneLake Architecture: Unified, Secure, and Scalable

At the core of Fabric’s innovative offering is the OneLake architecture. OneLake facilitates collaboration between data team members and saves time by eliminating the need to move and copy data between different systems. Before OneLake, it was easier for customers to create multiple lakes for different business groups rather than collaborating on a single lake, even with the extra overhead of managing multiple resources.

OneLake removes those challenges by merging storage from an organization’s various regions and cloud platforms into a single logical lake. It’s similar to how Office stores Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files in OneDrive. Fabric stores lakehouses, warehouses, and other items in OneLake. Better yet, any data that lands in OneLake is governed by default.

The architecture is designed to be open and scalable, ensuring that organizations benefit from a single, governed source of truth. This approach promotes data accuracy, consistency, and trustworthiness, ultimately leading to better-informed decision making.
